WHY NOT USE THE RECIPIENTS ADDRESS FOR SHIPPING GIFTS AND ENJOY THE PACKAGING, FINANCIAL, TIME-SAVING AND ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS?
LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY GREETINGS TO INCLUDE.
I enjoy making lidded jars because I am told by returning customers that they often get used regularly. I want to engage with people by providing them with something thoughtfully handmade that usefully fits into their daily routine. The jar is provided with a well-fitting lid to add to the pleasure of its use. The surfaces have indentations and stamps to retain a layer of glaze and there are dashes of brush-applied green-brown iron oxide to add an abstract visual interest. This jar pays homage to my interests in the painted marks left on rocks and cave walls by our prehistoric ancestors and in the graceful Chinese porcelains of the Song Dynasty.
