This is an original watercolour painting of a succulent house plant,
I have used both Windsor and Newton professional water colour paints and professional Japanese water colour paints.
I have used 320gsm Khadi paper which is made in India from cotton rags. It has a creamy appearance.
Size approximately A5 the paper is handmade and has a decal edge.
This comes without a frame.
I love my houseplants, I also love painting although this has taken a bit of a back seat since I left art college many moons ago to concentrate on my textile art.
But during this period when going out has almost ceased I've taken the opportunity to start painting again.
The Khadi paper I've chosen is absolutely gorgeous to use. My original intention was to sew through it, as it's made from rags, but once I'd completed the painting stage I felt it would ruin it to add stitching to it.
I use professional water colour paints, the Japanese ones are different to the English ones, they are more creamy, almost like a gouache, perfect for my style of painting.
