Item details

Repurposed from a black skirt, this dainty tote bag is decorated with a flower on either side. It is surprisingly roomy and can be used for books, shopping, lunch etc. It's lined with grey hessian style fabric (which also highlights the seams) so it's sturdy and keeps it's shape. The handles are the right length to wear the bag on the shoulder, or it can be carried, whichever is preferred.
Height 50 cm, including handles, 33cm for the bag itself (and 25cm wide).

I'm afraid there's no great story this time.... I bought a very full, black skirt from Traid last winter and it was just a little too heavy - the fabric was wrong for the style and there was plenty of it, so the repurpose into a bag idea was born! I really loved making it, I had no idea what it was going to be like when I started, I just got going and let it evolve - it really was as simple as that!
