This large quilt covers a double bed easily. It has all been hand pieced and long-arm quilted by myself in my home workshop. I have used 100% cotton fabric for the topper but the reverse is a polycotton blend. There are approx. 10-12 differing blue pattered fabrics cut in 2.5" squares then patchworked together. The core is SuperSoft Polyester wadding.
The cream self patterned sashing complements the blues well. I have used a navy fabric on the reverse to highlight the quilting. The binding is all hand made and hand sewn on the reverse.
This quilt is machine washable and has been washed at 30oc after completion. This is a beautiful heirloom quilt that has taken 40 hours of work to complete.

My mother loves blue and white plates. She passed that on to me but I use the colours in patchwork. I have used a lot of blue fabric I already had and supplemented it with a fat quarter bundle of blue/white fabrics. The cream fabric is self patterned so it complements the blues. I have used a navy polycotton king size sheet on the reverse which shows the pattern of the long-arm quilting very well. I have used a new binding technique which I think gives a neat finish to the work.
