Item details

This reduction linocut process uses one large piece of lino and a set number of pieces of paper. The lino is carved for each colour and printed by placing the lino exactly over the previous print. As the block is destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted.

The print is one of a Limited Edition of 8.
They are hand printed by me using my etching press, onto white 200gsm Snowdon cartridge paper using water washable inks.

They are signed in pencil on the front by me as the artist
They are sold unframed and will be packaged carefully in reinforced cardboard.

A new Reduction Linocut inspired by people and their relationship with the sea.
Here the two mermaids are intertwined with golden hair and dancing with some silver fish and columns of weeds. I printed the hair in gold ink and the mermaid's fish tails in silver ink

All designs are original linocuts and relief prints designed & cut by myself, Drusilla Cole. I hand-print them onto Archival paper, using linseed oil water-washable ink here in my studio in Bishops Castle, Shropshire.

I love the technique and process of printmaking, especially reduction linocuts, and I also love to experiment with creating woodcuts, collagraphs and etchings.
Colour is very important to me as my artwork demonstrates
