I was inspired to make boats by my husband who is a woodworker and who makes the wooden hulls for me. I wanted to create something a little different, so came up with the idea of making the view that might be seen when at sea. One of my customers said that the sea and the sky is exactly the view he sees when he capsizes!

Full description
The wooden hull of this striking yacht gives a solid and sturdy base to display the handmade, individually designed, kiln-formed glass sail. The sail shows a variety of sea colours from pale aqua and turquoise through to cobalt blue. The bowed sail gives the impression of being blown by the wind. The glass sail is particularly attractive when backlit, either with lights or by being placed in front of a window where the beautiful colours can be fully appreciated.
Dimensions: Length of wooden hull: 26cm
Height from base to top of sail 30cm
Designed by Marion Smith in Cambridge
