I didn't have a clue what to get my dad this year for father's Day and then inspiration hit and I asked my daughter and my nephew to draw a portrait of their grandad. I then turned these pictures into a piece of free motion appliqué textile art which my dad now proudly displays on his office wall. Since then I have had several commissions for other family portraits from children's drawings, I really enjoy doing these and watching the characters come to life in fabrics.
