Black sea glass is relatively rare and so I enjoy making pieces from it when I find some. Usually this glass comes from Champagne bottles or other very heavy glass.
Most glass that appears black is actually very dark green when held up to the light. Black glass allows almost no light through when held up to the light so although there probably is some green pigment it doesn't show.
