Walking down the street and seeing fires flickering in living rooms, yup, it's already cold in the moors. First the house shapes were masked out and the sky was put in by sprinkling copper oxide and ground glass sheet onto a clear glass sheet, the garden and street were outlined in coloured glass powder and a clear top sheet put on top. The whole thing is fired which creates the blue sky. The houses are cut out of ceramic felt and dusted with coloured glass and the fused sheet is put on top of this and fired again. The ceramic fibres deform the top layer of glass and transfer the colour through the back of the glass, each house is ever so slightly raised up and sits in the foreground. The final touch is a piece of seasoned oak, routed and shaped to take 3 standard tealights to shine through the window of each house so you can enjoy a winters night without getting cold.
