A tan-olive stoneware box with a bamboo handle and geometric stamped marks that cause variations of glaze thickness and colour. The lid and exterior are decorated with brush-applied brown iron oxide splashes. This handbuilt box is perfect for spices, herbs, keys, shells or your small precious items. The jar was made with a UK stoneware and, after biscuit firing and glazing the piece was fired to 1300C to make it impermeable and very durable. The jar is food-safe and measures approximately 11cm tall and 14cm wide.

I love making lidded boxess because I am told by returning customers that they get used regularly. I want to engage with people by providing them with something thoughtfully handmade that fits into their daily routine. I take care to make my boxes with a well-fitting lid to add to the pleasure of their use. There are metallic brown abstract splashes and a stamped hand and eye marks to add visual interest. The shape and stamps are my homage to the boxes used for the storage and display of religious relics.
