The Folklore and Ancient History attached to the Green Man has always been something I have been interested in.
Globally, this pre-christian image of foliate heads and leaf masks, can symbolize renewal and new growth.
For myself it can also convey the link and often fragile balance between man and nature.
This smaller version of the larger wall art I create was initially developed for a friend to decorate a new garden fence.
Another source for inspiration for this smaller size head is the many Green Man carvings at the site of Roslyn Chapel.
