A beautiful Goldfinch perched amongst some blossom provides the main feature of this handmade cushion cover. The cushion cover is made from a lovely grey fake silk fabric and a contrasting plain grey linen fabric, stitched in a patchwork style around the cream fake suede centre panel. The Goldfinch has been machine embroidered onto the centre panel.
The back of the cushion cover is made from a contrasting cream coloured, poly-cotton fabric and has a hidden zip closure, to allow easy removal of the cushion pad inside. The outer edge of the cushion cover is top-stitched about 1inch (2cm) from the edge, all the way round, to create a small frill around the cushion.
The cushion would make a lovely gift for anybody who likes birds or wildlife.
This listing is for the hand-made cushion cover together with a 16” x 16” feather cushion pad.
All the fabric and thread used to make the cushion cover is washable at 30C.and both the cushion fabric and the embroidered design can be ironed on the medium setting, ideally using a pressing cloth. The cushion pad is feather filled and should be professionally dry-cleaned.

I love Goldfinches. They are so bright and colourful and always sound cheerful, with their constant twittering. As they are regular visitors to my garden, I thought it would be nice to create an embroidery design of one. The design took a long time to create, as I wanted to make sure that it was realistic. I hope that you like the finished result.
