Rivendell Originals individually designed fused glass spoon rests are like a little piece of glass art in your kitchen. They are ideal to stop the mess of dripping spoons on your worktop or table. Each spoon rest is made from the best quality hand crafted glass. Each piece can take days to create; the glass is cut by hand, assembled and fired in the kiln to around 800 degrees centigrade. Texture is created using frit (crushed glass), powdered glass, and stringers. 24 hours later the pieces are removed from the kiln, any rough edges are smoothed; it is returned to the kiln and fired again at a lower temperature. Finally, the piece is ready to be slumped into the spoon rest shape. No two pieces are ever the same. The spoon rest comes with a wooden spoon.
