This is an original Reduction linocut - a method which creates a multicoloured print from a single block of lino. Through a series of progressive cuttings, inkings, and printings, the image slowly emerges while the actual piece of lino is destroyed. A reduction print can therefore never be reprinted. This means that the whole batch of prints must be printed at the start and will determine the final number in any edition.

The print is one of a Limited Edition of 9.
They are hand printed by me using my etching press, onto white 200 gsm Snowdon cartridge paper using water washable inks.

Paper size : 47.5 x 36 cm ( 18 3/4" x 14 1/4")
Image size : 32 x 24.5 cm ( 12 1/2 " x 9 3/4")

They are signed in pencil on the front by me as the artist
They are sold unframed and will be packaged carefully in a cardboard roll.

An original reduction Linocut featuring some ladies swimming in multicoloured water. I was inspired by observing a group of friends splashing about in the sea.

My hand-printed Linocuts and other original prints are made in my studio in Bishops Castle, Shropshire.
I am a Printmaker, an occasional teacher of workshops and am author of several books on Surface Pattern.
I love the technique and process of printmaking, especially reduction linocuts, and I also love to experiment with creating woodcuts, collagraphs and etchings.

Colour is very important to me as my artwork demonstrates. My main interest is in nature, art ceramics and quirky flea market finds.
I work in a large light and airy room in my house overlooking the Old Market Square and rooftops to the hills beyond.
