I started selling my earrings last year (2019), by taking tables at local craft fair and social events. I really enjoyed it.
Alas this year, things changed, so I have braved the online shop world to show and sell my creations, which now include hand knitted socks and dog collars and leads.
I knitted these on circular needles. They are 4ply specifically designed for socks, 75% wool and 25% polyamide. This means they are comfortable, durable and washable (30degrees machine wash, or ideally hand wash). Dry flat. Please no tumble drying.
I make them to be nearly matching, a relaxed comfortable fit with a very loose cuff/rib. These are great for everyday wear with trainers, walking shoes, wellies, boots but also lovely and toasty for bed socks. This is a longer sock than the norm.
This pair are suitable for shoe size 6 to 11ish and are 31cm tall.
As with all these things I started knitting socks for myself and then as a couple of Christmas presents. That was about 15 years ago. I made many over lockdown and found that folk really loved them, and bought them from me. I enjoy self patterning yarns and buy colours that call to me. Sometimes the final look is unknown until I start knitting it. Love it.
