Bees are in the news all the time as their numbers are declining. This Bee Hotel provides a simple way to make solitary bees welcome in your garden. The bees build tiny nests inside the holes, where their offspring can safely develop, supplied with a parcel of pollen to feed on. Once the nest is prepared and the eggs laid, the bee seals the hole with a mixture of tiny bits of leaf or mud. The young bees take a number of months to develop and may not hatch until the following year. The whole process is fascinating to watch and these bees are gentle creatures to have around.
Your Bee Hotel can stand on the ground in a flower bed or be hung on a nail on a fence or wall. The coloured roof not only adds an attractive feature, it also protects the bee house from the rain.
Currently we are offering bee hotels made from 7.5cm square posts and measuring 28 to 30cm high. You can choose from a selection of different coloured roofs. If you would like a size or colour not listed, send us a message and we’ll see what we can do.
We originally made these bee hotels totally from scrap wood. They have proved so popular that we have had to buy further supplies and have also needed to increase the price to reflect a better quality of materials.
Bee hotels are made to order and so the dispatch time is longer, to allow us to fit orders around work and other commitments.

We have a bee house in our garden, bought some years ago in a supermarket. We have found it fascinating, watching the busy little creatures flying to and fro with bits of nesting material. We love to attract bees to our garden and it is a priveledge to see them preparing a little nursery for the next generation. Everyone should have a bee hotel in their garden and so Roy decided to have a go at making one. The first one he made was occupied by bees within a matter of weeks.
