Carole threw the cup on her Leach kick wheel then when firm, she neatened the base, adding a signature & hand pulled handle with a heart shaped base. The cup was then low temperature fired in her gas kiln, glazed with her own ash glaze recipes & decorated with an impression of the wildflower meadows that surround her mountain studio. It was then kiln fired to 1280 degrees Celsius. The cup holds 250 ml. As each cup is individually made, they vary slightly. More could be made to order. Carole considers a cup to be the most intimate of vessels. It is put to one’s lips, caressed in one’s hands, carefully washed when used then put on the shelf from where it can enhance one’s home.
