The other day I was walking past a flower market stall and spotted a bunch of cornflowers. I thought I'd pick them up on the way back past. But when I returned to the stall the last bunches had gone. I was sad to have missed them, so I went home and painted them from my imagination instead. This way I turned my blues into flowers forever. Painted in layers of oil pastels, watercolours and inks the painting is a delicately abstracted rendition of my memory.
