A large cosmetic/ make-up/ accessories bag made from designer and vintage fabrics.

The outer fabric of the bag is a cotton glazed chintz called 'Nympheus' by the high-end fabric design house GP & J Baker (they are still making this expensive fabric today in numerous colourways). It features a green heron wading through pink lily pads and flowers on a white ground. This outer fabric has been lined with interfacing to help provide structure.

The bag has been lined with a vintage Sanderson floral cotton fabric from the 1970s evocatively called 'Time Was', in complementary tones of fresh green and soft pinks.

It is finished with a gorgeous mini-tassel in shades of pink and green which is attached to the pink zip as a handy pull.

The bag measures approximately 31 cms wide and 23 cms tall and has a gusseted base to provide extra capacity and allow the bag to stand upright.

I found very small pieces of this GP & J Baker fabric in my local charity shop but recognised it instantly.

I think this chintz finish and colourway is much older than the expensive cotton fabric contemporary colourways of 'Nympheus' that are available today, but I am not sure of its exact age.

However, its 'watery' motifs make a perfect finish for a modern toiletries bag!
