I was drawn to these delicate, spindly daises, whose fragile petals feel like paper, whose presence is shy amongst the bolder coloured meadow flowers. But I loved them all the more for that and came home to give them centre stage in this painting, scratching their spindly stems into the ink. And now they live on forever.
