This card is taken from my original Collagraph print called Riverbank, a cheeky otter popping his head out of the reeds on the river bank.
I was inspired to make the original print after reading how the Yorkshire branch of the Wildlife Trust had managed to successfully reintroduce river otters into the River Don, a river local to me.
This will have been no easy task at all. The river Don had suffered decades of neglect and misuse following years and years of industrial use.
It seems though that the river and the otters are now thriving which is wonderful news. How special it is to have these native mammals back in our local rivers.
