A large cushion made from a rare 1930s quilted and embroidered fabric. The background fabric is heavily embroidered with a cream-coloured thread in an organic patterned chain stitch. The gently faded flower motifs (soft hues of pink, green and yellow) are outlined in metal thread which, I presume, was once a bright gold but has now tarnished to an antiqued bronze colour.

Although in excellent condition, this rare fabric has been lined inside the cushion with natural calico for extra protection.

This special fabric has been teamed with a back panel of 'Old Gold' British pure cotton velvet and enhanced with modern haberdashery in the form of 'Arabian Sandstorm' woven jacquard braid and edged with a goose feather fringe!

The cushion measures approximately 50 x 42 cms and has been filled with a British-made generous feather pad to give a plump and substantial cushion.

The neutral coloured zip opening is at the base of the cushion and all raw fabric edges have been overlocked for a professional finish.

Please note: the price is for one cushion, although two are available. However, the placement of flower motifs and braid varies slightly so as to make best use of the features, but they would make a perfectly complementary pair.
