A large rectangular cushion made using a vintage Sanderson print called 'Albury' with gloriously blousy pink blooms on a fashionable teal background. I am not sure of the date of the fabric (it looks 1980s to me) but it could date as far as the 1960s. I have teamed this colourful front panel with a sumptuous 'Mallard Teal' plush velvet on the sides and rear of the cushion with borders of Jacquard Teal Ribbon (from the London-based 'Hip Haberdasher' VV Rouleaux).

The cushion is approximately 58 x 38 cms and is filled using a 60 x 40 cms British-made feather pad. The zip enclosure (teal coloured zip) is at the base of the cushion and all material raw edges have been overlocked for a professional finish.

I found two pieces of this beautiful vintage Sanderson Albury fabric about 5 years ago, one piece just large enough for it to be incorporated into a cushion panel.

I intend to use the second piece to make another cushion which will incorporate a beautiful vintage embroidery (based on Joshua Reynolds' painting 'The Age of Innocence') in the same hues of teal, blue, raspberry pink and green - so watch this space!
