Handmade Silver Strawberry Leaf Pendant. Lovingly and carefully crafted from recycled silver in clay form using a real strawberry leaf.

Each pendant uses the shape and texture of the original leaf, as opposed to a reusable mould, which makes each pendant truly unique. Once shaped, sculptured and fired, the firing process will produce a pendant which is solid silver. Approximate dimensions are 30-35 mm long x 20-25 mm width, the obviously depending on the size of the original leaf. The leaves used for these pendants are all grown in my garden and are handpicked for their appearance and texture, which will notably impact on the finished piece. The leaf texture on the front of the pendant is natural and created by the original leaf, all unique. The texture on the reverse of the pendant is enhanced by carving back in the original vein lines of the leaf, which is quite time consuming, and these pendants have a polished finish.

I use a process of air drying the pendants naturally at each stage to maintain the original shape of the leaf. This means that it can take around 2 weeks from start to finish to produce one of these pendants.

Although the drying process can be shortened by using a heater or dehydrator, this can impact on the final shape and appearance of the pendant. Each pendant comes with a new sterling silver chain and a presentation gift box.
