Item details

This flower has different meanings to different people. The actual meaning of the flower is Magnificent Beauty but it is definitely a femme fatal beauty as it may be beautiful but it is highly poisonous flower.

There are many myths regarding the Calla Lily, but most are associated with pregnancy and birth. In Greek Mythology the Calla Lily represents the milk of Goddess Hera that was spilled as she was nursing Hercules. In Christian Legend, Calla lilies are believed to represent the tears of Eve as she was expelled from paradise. Lilies are also associated with the Virgin Mary and can often be seen in paintings being held by the Angel Gabriel as he announces the pregnancy of the Virgin Mary. This is believed to be the reason as to why Calla lilies are often seen in weeding bouquets, representing new and future life, despite the Calla lilies toxicity.
