Welcome to Woolly Daydreams Folksy shop.
Hand Spun from goats that graze our lush Welsh pastures.
The wool in this skein was bought from a local small holder, straight off the Angora goat. The wool is known as Mohair, to distinguish it from Angora rabbits, which also provide fibre
This is lustrous natural creamy colour skein. Angora wool naturally develops a 'bloom'.
The finished yarn is 14 wpi, which is about 4ply weight.
Like the long wool sheep, Angora goat wool is long and hangs in curls. When spun these locks produce a firm yarn with good drape but no spring to it.
Can be used for knitting, crochet or weaving, but best used alone or with other long lock sheep or mohair yarn.
There will be small inconsistencies in the thickness throughout the skein which is not the case with factory made yarn.
Suggested uses: a hat or mittens, or as an accent feature, contrast or patterns on a larger project.
This wool may be a little prickly for wearing against soft skin.
One skein at 130 grams and about 210 metres.
Hand spun wool does not enjoy machine washing or tumble drying. It is best with a gentle hand wash and air drying flat.
These skeins are OOAK and not repeatable.
I always make sure that my pictures show the true colours on the screen available to me but cannot guarantee they will be on others.
I am happy to wind it into centre pull balls at no extra cost. Please let me know when ordering.
