This hand crocheted soap bag is made of jute, a natural plant fibre grown predominantly in India. Because it is biodegradable, when your replace your soap bag with a new one, you can cut your old one up and throw it on the compost heap.

To use, put your favourite soap or soap scraps inside, close with the drawstring and use like a scrubbie or sponge.The bag will help to exfoliate your skin whilst washing.

Once finished, loosen the drawstring and hang up to dry. Drying your soap bag between uses will help to keep it in a good condition.

You can throw your soap bag in the washing machine or handwash between soaps if wished, then hang out on the line to dry before putting a new soap in.

On first use the soap bag will feel quite rough but will soften over a few uses. If looked after it should last for at least 6 months before it needs replacing.

A friend asked if I could make a soap bag they could use when camping. They wanted something natural that they could hang up to dry after use. I tried a few different materials and sizes before I came up with this and they tried it and loved it.
