Hand decorated wood box, the original pyrographed line design is coloured in with watercolour. ‘Dream Box’ is ink stamped on the top, each side of the box has another word stamped on it, all words are what I wish for anyone in their dreams and life. These wishes are ‘Joy, Peace, Health, Fun, Wealth and Hope’. Inside the box there are 2 more words stamped on the underside of the lid and in the base, these wishes are ‘Love and Happiness’.
The lower edge of the hexagonal box also has a pyrographed and painted line. All painted surfaces have been sealed with one coat of acrylic varnish.
Size- 16.5cms wide by 14cms deep, with a height of 9cms.

I decorated this box to create a piece of art that may be used in a home to soothe the soul. You may want to collect your written dreams in the box or write inspiration for those yet to come. It may work as a incentive to reflect on our own self care and look at what we are wishing ourselves. (or others if given as a gift.)
Personally I find birds are inspiring, spiritual and peaceful creatures that sing us back to ourselves.

When the current crisis started I wasn't sure as an artist how to react, I felt that I needed to let my friends and family know how much I cared for them and to remind them to 'stay safe'. This led to me to adapting an existing personal motif I already use in my artwork into a symbolic image that I could repeat, paint and send out to all my close friends and family. The image tries to capture the calm of a peaceful dreaming bird, safe on her nest. Everyone who received this image on paper loved it and it has inspired me to create this longer lasting, significant piece of art.

This box can be used as a practical tool for cultivating our own dreamscapes, all you need to add is your imagination. The box can be personalised, but this would be an extra cost.
