I have been walking along the coastline and across the hills, inspired by the book 'Windswept' by Annabel Abbs. Now, I'm busy working up ideas developing from these walks.

Willow herb is such a beautiful, vibrant shade of pink. It grows freely across the land and looks stunning against the lush green hills of Northumberland. I wanted to catch the fresh, vivid colours of the Northumbrian landscape, on one of those summer days where clouds scud across a blue sky. The plant itself is also known as fire or bomb weed because it was so quick to populate bomb damaged sites during the blitz. Here, against the stone wall and green hills its shocking colour blazes out.
