The hare is seen as having a deep spiritual connection and have a long history as a sacred animal. Associated with witchcraft and pagan beliefs, this animal has been seen as a symbol of spring and especially linked to the Goddess Ostara, the moon and as a sign of fertility.
The Moongazing Hare is believed to be a bountiful omen and bringer of good fortune, abundance and prosperity and was revered by the ancient Celts. There are tales and folklore about hares found in many different cultures and belief systems. Queen Boudicca is said to have prayed to a Hare Goddess before going into battle with the Romans.
Some believe that the hare has a deep rooted link to nature and the land and a reminder for us all to live in harmony and respect with the natural world around us.
