Alder is very satisfying wood to work with especially when hand turning. It has a very pleasing golden colour and a soft close grain. Although this has been hand turned I have done some work on the handle to make it flat and easier to hold.

A useful tool for getting runny honey from the jar to the bread. This one is completely unique, turned by hand on a pole lathe. It is made from alder and measures 14cm long, 3cm. wide
