I have lived by the coast for most of my life, the North Sea has been a playground while growing up in the North East of England, hot summers, cold winters, all enjoyed by the sea. As an adult, I can walk to the coast in 10 minutes and take in the most beautiful changing scape right in front of me.

Many take inspiration from the sea, it offers so much, it never stays still, it can be threatening, calming, provoking, evoking.

I've made many works about the sea but for me, this piece has my everything. It was a labour of love, somewhat gruelling, taking about 3 month to complete.

Using ink to make millions of dots on the surface of paper, the eye bounds from corner to corner, never still yet caught in a moment.

The sale of this original drawing will help my chosen charity, REFUGE. The charity is committed to a world where domestic violence and violence against women and girls is not tolerated and where women and children can live in safety.

Their aim is to empower women and children to rebuild their lives, free from violence and fear. They provide a range of life-saving and life-changing services, and a voice for the voiceless.
