Knit a perfect replica of your brother, husband, mother, sister, best friend and everyone else you know with this customisable, mix-and-match knitting pattern.

There are 6 different hairstyles and 2 beards which are knit separately then sewn onto the basic head, 3 hairstyles (including bald) and 1 beard which are knit using intarsia, as well as 2 buns, a beanie hat, a moustache and glasses to choose from.

The cornrows in the photo are easily adapted to make them longer, shorter or to leave them loose as dreadlocks.

The hair can also be sewn on or attached with a crochet hook to give even more possibilities.

The heads are knit flat and if using worsted yarn and 4mm knitting needles are approximately 8cm (3 inches) tall without any hair or hats added on top. If you use a different yarn and/or needles the size may differ.

This 10-page pattern is printed double-sided in colour on A4 paper and will be sent to you unfolded and unbound.

You will need:

Cascade 220 yarn in a skin colour (Brown, Tan, Sand and Beige are good shades for the skin), a hair colour and a little in appropriate colours for the mouth and eyes. One or two colours for the hat, if making.
Toy stuffing.
4mm knitting needles.
A tapestry needle.
White embroidery thread and a sharp sewing needle.
If attaching the hair with cow hitch, a 4mm crochet hook.
If knitting the hair separately, a few pins.
For braids, dreadlocks and cornrows: 4mm double-pointed needles.
Optional: blusher.
Optional: a bobble for the hat.

Techniques you should know:

Increases and decreases.
Some heads require intarsia, most do not.
Sewing seams using mattress stitch.
For dreadlocks, cornrows and braids: i-cord.
