Item details

Handmade stoneware mug made on my potters wheel using a white flecked clay body. When it is leather hard I attach and pull the handle. I like to make the handles so that your thumb can sit comfortably on the top.
It is bisque fired then 2 lead-free glazes are applied. White gloss inside and then a blue-green glaze. The mugs are then fired again to 1220 oC.

Height of mug about 10 cm
Diameter about 7 cm at the top
Capacity about 350 ml

This listing is for 1 mug, all mugs are handmade and although I make the mugs in small batches with the same amount of clay and glaze there will be some variation in colour and shape, making each beautifully unique.

Where possible I will use recycled packaging to post pottery but never at the risk of damage to the pot.

This might be a one off! It is glazed in a glaze that I have recently mixed so I'm still getting used to how to apply it, but I so love the effect on this mug I just had to share it! Where the glaze has met the clay body on the outside there is a lovely rich toasty colour. The glaze has a satin feel to it and the colours seems to me to change like the colour of the sea does depending on the colour of the sky. You have the contrast with the textured feel of the clay on the lower half of the mug. Yet again I seem to be back on the beach with my glaze inspiration.
