I am now open. Thanks to all of my customers for supporting me in 2020 and I hope 2021 be a happier year for all.
This print was inspired by some snails that I saw on the fish market in Venice believe it or not. In August, the Venetians sometimes eat small snails , known as bovoletti. It is possible to see them in large quantities at the market displayed in metal trays. Inevitably, some brave individuals make a break for it and they can been seen making off across the table and down the legs onto the floor. Sadly, they get scooped back up and into the tray again. Anyway I decided to immortalise these brave ones in my hand made Linocut print. They are printed onto acid free paper with an archival oil based ink. Each print is signed and numbered on the front. The print is 27 cm wide by 20 cm high. The image size is 19 cm wide by 15 cm high.
I will package the print in a reinforced, waterproof envelope and dispatch with five days.
I love to visit markets abroad but my favourite place is Italy. This print was inspired by escaping snails in the Rialto fish market.
