This modern accent chair has been handmade here in Leeds using pine and plywood (although only the back rest is plywood). It is the type of chair you might have to add visual interest to a room and is not intended for every day use.

It features three legs where the back legs double up as an arm rests at a diagonal 90 degree angle. The seat section has been biscuit jointed (meaning it is made up of two pieces) and is supported underneath by a bar running across.

It has been painted in a light grey and finished in a beeswax.

Collection is from Lower Wortley, which is in LS12 and 2.4 miles west of Leeds City Centre. This option avoids the delivery fee.

I started this unusual chair whilst at Hollybush as a way to test myself and venture 'outside of the box'. In fact, I made a prototype first at 50% scale (which turned into a child's chair. The angles changed slightly and the top of the arms trimmed down in order to bring the back rest closer, so it was a design that morphed during the making. It's a beautiful chair - and almost throne-like in appearance - but the simplicity of the angles and the crisp edging is what makes this one so special.
