I happened upon a single ball of luxury silk mix yarn in my wool box and it seemed perfect from a crocheted flower. This classy little number sprang from my hook and just needed a centre. A traditional Dorset singleton button seemed just the thing and a piece of batik cotton was the perfect colour. By chance three vintage wooden disc beads also matched perfectly. I have finished the back with a neat disc of felt and a brooch pin. I think this brooch has a grounded feel to it and my be just the gift for the earth mother in your life?

This brooch all began with the fabulous luxury yarn. Each flower I crocheted from it came out with a different colour range and this led to the finishing touch. I am led by my materials which I have collected over many years and find it exciting to see when a bead or button will find it’s perfect home.
