This is a large piece - typically 6mm thick at its thickest, 24cm long and 24cm tall at its highest… It is made up of triangles of transparent and transluscent art glass in clear and blues - and is topped with large crystals of frit - so when light streams through a window or bounces on the mantlepiece, it comes alive with colour and sparkle... It depicts a wave crashing.. it is set in a solid oak wood block, with its bottom covered in baize.. Please note that the crystals are the weakest element of the sculpture and whilst I can get it to you wrapped and boxed so that nothing is lost, if it manhandled it will lose some of the tiny crystals but then it will simply settle into itself once the little ones on the edges have gone..

I have always been fascinated by the sea - for its colour variations, for its power, for the depth of knowledge it hides from the humans... I have been a scuba diver from a young age - inspired by my father whose hobby was spear fishing when we first moved to Australia in 1960 and where I grew up close to the sea, able to listen to it whenever I wanted... As lockdown continues, my restlessness comes from being too far away from it for too long..
