These hot pink chicks are affectionately known as "Ladies Who Lunch", and with its quirky nature, this print is perfect if you have a chicken lover in your life, or to adorn your kitchen and give if that extra special look.
The inspiration for this print was a trip to RHS Harlow Carr where I met these girls residing in the Hen Hotel. It’s such fun to watch them cooing at each other and scratching about. They all seem to have their own personalities if you stop and watch them for a while. I took quite a lot of photos so could base my linocut around these three Hens and have amalgamated my printmaking and illustration styles to create this print. I love a good splatter effect, and it really seems to suit this piece and ground the subject, so to speak.
