Stunning hand washed and carded by myself.....180g if alpaca fibre. The honey colour is natural.

There is one carded batt in the picture...the batts weigh 60g grams each. Your will receive 3x60g.

Alpaca is very light compared to wool so you actually get a huge amount to work with.
Alpaca is also 8 times warmer than wool so there is no need for chunky yarn as something light will still be lively and warm.

In the last picture I have provided an example of a a single ply Alpaca yarn spun on a drop Spindle.

I like to work will live yarn so I let the twist take naturally. If you set the twist in hot/warm soapy water you will have a more even slightly felted yarn.

Alpaca fibre is such a luxury to work with and naturally hypo allergenic.
This makes it fabulous for tiny baby items or super soft light warm scarfs and socks..the list goes on.

My main use for hand spun tends to be rug hooking and needle push. Nothing gives life to a project like hand spun yarn.

If you have never tried spinning before, alpaca yarn on a light drop spindle is the perfect place to start.
