Turned wooden pin cushion in pine
Description
These lovely small pin cushions are hand turned from pine and are 40 to 44 mm tall and 60 to 65 mm in diameter. The cushion is made from a pretty piece of fabric formed over a plug of polystyrene with a soft Kapok top and is about 35 mm in diameter. They make a nice gift.
Inspiration
In my imagination I see these little pine pin cushions as 'working pin cushions' carried around in one hand as whatever is being worked on is being pinned up. But they look lovely sitting on a workbench or shelf. I love pine. It's very hard to turn across the grain so that it comes up glass smooth but the reward is an attractive strong grain figure. Made from a FSC controlled source.
