Stunning huge medicine rattle handmade by myself.
38cm Tall 39cm rattle circumference at the widest point.
The rattle is made from Buffalo hide and I have used the hide to sculpt the grower and butterflies.
The rattle handle is a lovely piece of aged driftwood gifted to me by the coast of Scotland. The flower centre is a fresh water pearl and the trim suede leather.
As a rattle is such a core piece of heeling equipment it deserves a sacred space.

I include with a rattle a hand felted sacred bag made from organic uk hand washed and prepared Shetland wool.

I took part in a drum circle nearly 30 years ago now and have been fascinated in anything to do with the practise of the shaman ever since.
My journey has lead me to sound therapy and Reiki.
It just felt right to make a rattle for healing work that was clearly made to support a female energy.
I just love to push the boundaries of any craft and felt that I could add some sculpture to a piece.

The sound is loud due to the huge rattle head size and I use saffron and sunflower seeds to create the sound.

All of my rattles are smudged and the energy of the trees and animals used thanked for their contribution to my work.
