Item details

This is a vitreous enamel on steel in a frame. It shows an evocative image of a gondola in Venice with the silks and brocades that are so typical of the region. A tiny snapshot of a wonderful city to bring a little of the magic into your home. The actual enamel measures approximately 78 x 20 mm and the frame measures 175 x 125 mm in total. I have developed my own mixed media style of Enamelling to make it and I used a range of techniques including stencils, screens, hand painting and it is finished with gold and silver leaf to add opulence and sparkle to the design.

I have enjoyed many wonderful trips to Venice and it is one of my favourite places to visit. There is always something new to see and the whole place is infused with history and magic. This enamel is inspired by this wondrous city and seeks to bring a little of the magic into your home.
