Description

A wheel-thrown porcelain vase showing colour variations reflecting the flow of the combustion gases in the kiln. The copper red glaze breaks to white where the local conditions are hotter. Where the glaze has pooled there are small areas of flambe blue.
The wheel-thrown porcelain vase will add a strong focal point in your home. Good for showing off fresh or dried flowers or simply display just on its own.
This vase was made with a UK porcelain and after biscuit firing the glaze was applied in three layers. Finally the piece was fired to 1300C. This makes it impermeable and very durable.
- All of my work is one-of- a-kind and made by hand.
- As with all my pottery, items are food, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
- The vase measures approximately 22cm tall and 7cm wide.
- The bottom is impressed with my seal, the letter P, and its identity number 9668.

Glazes of this type that can be seen on Chinese Song dynasty pots in museum ceramic collections. Although the arresting appearance means that the vase could be a display focal point it could also serve as a vessel for showing off stems of grasses or flowers,
