This sculpture is titled 'Slingshot' as the two main top pieces form a 'Y' shape similar to a handheld catapult, and is made from driftwood found washed up on my local beach.

Tensegrity comes from the words Tension and Integrity and uses the tension in the strings to give the sculpture it's gravity defying appearance.

To make my sculptures as sustainable as possible all materials are locally sourced and no harmful chemicals are used in cleaning and sanitising the wood.

I offer free P&P as I will reuse plastic packaging as often as possible to minimise the amount that will end up in landfill and polluting our oceans.

After seeing pictures of tensegrity models I was fascinated by their gravity defying appearance and wondered if the same principles could be applied to the natural shapes of driftwood.

It can take a lot of searching, both walking the beach and going through my supplies, to find the correct pieces that will fit together with minimal cutting and shaping, as I want to preserve the natural look and shape of the driftwood as much as possible
