The design is printed on Acid Free 100% Bamboo A5 paper meaning the paper has a Cream/ Ivory tone.

For this Design I wanting to do a bird in flight amongst flowers. I look at an old study of a Blue Tit in flight and noticed how it's spread wings mimicked the petals of a flower. To exaggerate this link I try to fill the small space with sunflowers around the bird, without it becoming too busy. When I was happy with the placement I carved the design in lino cut and began to print onto A5 Bamboo Paper. I printed with Essdee Premium Block Printing Ink in Black.

Please note that this print is unframed and due to the handmade process and characteristics of ink, natural differences and irregularities will occur between prints. Print will be hand signed by myself in pencil in bottom right hand corner.

When I looked through my sketchbook I was struck by the similarity in shape between the spread feathers of a bird in flight and the petals of a flower. I created this print to emphasise the similarity.
