A little beach hut sits on a sandy shore waiting for you to find it. The waves reach almost to the door, so you can wash your sandy toes as you step inside after adventuring along the beach.
One of a series of Beach Hut Minis that I make. The appliqué panel hangs from a piece of drift wood and is mounted on a piece of card measuring 15 x 10 cm so it will fit in a small frame or can be propped straight on your shelf or mantelpiece

I have been walking along the coastline and across the hills, inspired by the book 'Windswept' by Annabel Abbs. Now, I'm busy working up ideas developing from these walks.

I am making more of my little beach hut mini art pieces during lockdown here in the North East of England -
I miss getting out to the coast at the moment but making these little beach huts reminds me of happy days and sandy beaches.
Each beach hut is machine stitched on my CAD sewing machine and then cut out and appliquéd to a beach scene made from hand dyed and appliquéd fabric and lace. Sometimes I add more texture with painted bondaweb. The little scene is wrapped around a small piece of recycled card - often from children matching games! - and then hung from a little piece of driftwood.
The beach huts vary in colour and location - choose your favourite and then daydream your way to the beach!
