On a visit to Sienna , we looked in at the oldest hospital in Europe . This is now a place of art as the fresco's are in fantastic condition. Imagining these ancient saints looking down upon the sick people who had travelled from all over the Europe to be healed is a comforting thought so I painted this plate in memory.
