This is a really special pendant, it is made from solid elm burr which is rare and very very old. The burr of the elm tree is a very special find. the tree grain has grown in a different way normally round and filled with knots, when cut through its very hard and very beautiful, the more knotty bits the tighter and harder the burr is, making it very special and unique. This piece is extra special as its from an ancient tree which unfortunately fell in a storm. The burr is very high quality due to the tree age and the amount of knotty bits making it very special. Its very hard wood and difficult to work with especially by hand, but we thought it was so special we must treat it accordingly. no machines have been used, just hours and hours of carving and sanding.
