Item details

Summer depicts summertime flowers in a small decorative vase. It is a hand painted monoprint from a lino block and printed on a hand press with finishing details in water based drawing inks. The background is in blue, the words Summer are in green and the flowers depict honeysuckle, sweetpeas and an allium.

It is signed and titled in pencil by the artist.

The print is supplied in a textured cream mount.

It is a variable edition; every hand painted print is unique.
Mount size: to fit a frame measuring 8 by 8 inches.
Printed on Fabriano paper using water based inks.
Colour fixed using a water based craft spray.
The colour may vary slightly from the image.

Proseprints is keen to be green, our printed greeting cards are on recycled paper, with bio-degradable cellos, we use paper based packaging and are introducing non-plastic packaging for protecting artwork. We also support a local conservation charity, donating money from the sales of our cards and artwork.

Since the Coronavirus lock down I have, like so many, spent much more time in the garden and realise how lucky I am to have one. I have a favourite small decorative vase bought from a charity shop, having filled it with Spring flowers from the garden it looked so pleasing I decided to make a linoprint of it to use as an Easter card for the family. This inspired me to use the design to depict the four seasons. Fortunately I had a photo of the vase with summer flowers in it (must have been thinking on the same lines last summer!) Autumn and Winter will have to wait awhile.
